Velvet Underground Format: Audio CD Progressive Rock 137949 Editorial Review
**** The Velvet Underground's compilation titled "Gold" has been met with extensive acclaim from customers, particularly for its ability to encapsulate the essence of the band's groundbreaking music. Many listeners appreciate the thoughtful curation of tracks, notably from the group's seminal albums and solo works by Nico, providing a comprehensive overview of their influence in the rock genre. The compilation spans two and a half hours and includes a significant portion of their first album, making it a rich experience for both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Listeners have enjoyed the accompanying booklet filled with photographs and essays, which adds a meaningful context to the music and enhances the overall experience of exploring the band’s legacy. As one reviewer aptly remarked, the compilation serves as a well-rounded introduction to Velvets’ music, elevating the listener’s appreciation for the band's innovative artistry, despite some expressing that only a few tracks resonate as memorable favorites. While the product itself has garnered positive feedback for its musical content, there are mentions of quality issues related to the packaging, specifically broken cases upon arrival. However, the appreciation for the music far outweighs these logistical inconveniences. Many find this compilation to be a valuable addition to their music collection, especially for those who wish to revisit the unique sound of The Velvet Underground while engaging in everyday activities like exercise. **
