Extech Manometers Editorial Review
The Extech HD700 Differential Pressure Manometer has garnered primarily positive feedback from its users, particularly those in the HVAC and natural gas industries. Users appreciate the manometer's reliable performance, ease of use, and the practical features it offers. The ability to capture minimum, maximum, and average readings has been highlighted as particularly beneficial for monitoring fluctuating pressures and transient readings, making it ideal for fieldwork as noted by an industrial burner technician. The illuminated display is a commonly praised feature, allowing users to operate the device effectively in low-light environments, such as dimly lit plants. Users have also mentioned the long-lasting battery life, with many opting for rechargeable batteries that provide extended operational time. The inclusion of a 120V wall outlet power supply adds versatility for users, ensuring the device remains functional even when batteries are depleted. However, the manometer is not without its issues. Some users have reported concerns over its ruggedness, noting that the molded plastic casing could be sturdier. Specific complaints have arisen regarding the battery cover, which tends to come loose, and the casing's propensity to crack under certain conditions—like cold temperatures. Additionally, users have commented on the limitations of the data logging software, suggesting that while it is easy to use, it may not be necessary for everyone. In summary, the Extech HD700 Differential Pressure Manometer is well-regarded for its accuracy and practicality in measuring pressure, but potential buyers should be mindful of its durability issues. **
