MXR Electric Guitar Effects CSP101SL Editorial Review
The MXR Script Phase 90 with LED has garnered a favorable reception among musicians, particularly those seeking a vintage phaser sound with practical modern features. Reviewers have noted its subtlety compared to the standard block letter version, making it an appealing choice for players who want to enhance their tone without overwhelming effects. Many users appreciate the single control knob, emphasizing that it simplifies the experience while delivering quality sound. When combined with other effects, like a chorus pedal, this phaser can produce rich variations reminiscent of a UniVibe sound, which is especially useful for genres like classic rock. The pedal is commended for its excellent build quality and weight, which often surpasses expectations for its size. Customers have also expressed satisfaction with the sound clarity, noting that it maintains the tone and timbre of each note without introducing unwanted noise. However, some critiques have been raised regarding specific design aspects. Notably, the absence of a power connector on the hand-wired version has been a deterrent, leading some to choose the non-handwired variant despite its fewer premium features. The placement of the power adapter input received some negative reviews as users found it impractical compared to alternative designs. Overall, the MXR Script Phase 90 stands out as a reliable and effective phaser pedal, favored for both its performance and affordability, making it a solid addition to any pedalboard. **
